Preview Preview Drop Down Menu– Commissioners Message about getting the COVID – 19 Vaccine FEATURED POSTS Radisson Wall Repair / Traffic Information April 21st, 2022 will begin the project to repair the retaining wall on Biden Street just off the Biden Expressway by the Radisson Hotel. The project will begin Monday, April 25, and only the inbound right lane will be closed. Traffic coming into the city may use the other two lanes. The lane will be closed from 7 am until 4:30 pm. The project is estimated to take between two-three weeks, and the plan is to work Monday through Friday. The Veterans Affairs Office is asking the organizations to return the forms no later than March 31. If the orders are not received by the deadline, the Veterans Affairs Office cannot guarantee that the organizations will get their requested materials. Counties are ranked by the highest vaccination rate as of Feb. 24, 2022. Due to inconsistencies in reporting, some counties do not have vaccination data available. The CDC now considers three factors: New COVID Hospitalizations / Hospital Capacity / New COVID Cases. Taken together, the new CDC metrics will consider an area to be: High,” Medium” or Low” risk. Under these new guidelines, is now considered at the Medium Risk Level.” Starting on Tuesday, March 1, the wearing of masks in County Buildings will be optional. At all levels, individuals can wear a mask based on personal preference. All individuals are highly recommended to wear a mask if they have: underlying conditions; symptoms of COVID; recently tested positive; or recently been exposed to COVID. Both departments are working to rectify the situation. Residents will have to contact their local tax collector and/or the Single Tax Office if they do not receive a bill in the mail. The shutdown involves the nation’s three major wireless carriers and could occur as soon as this month. As the 3G network retires, individuals will not be able to make or receive calls and text messages or use data services on their older phones. The shutdown could also impact other devices that rely on 3G connectivity, including medical alert devices, tablets, home security systems, and roadside assistance systems. Many seniors utilize their cell phones and tablets for entertainment and to stay connected with family and friends. These devices and others are also lifesavers, and they can make a difference when seconds count,” said Secretary of Aging Robert Torres.
